Have you ever disagreed to a Google search result? Wanted to annotate a result page or even delete or add your favorite websites on your searches? SearchWiki from Google exactly does that. Though SearchWiki has been on an experiment for a long time, starting from Thursday it would be available by default for anyone who’s logged into Google and does a search.
The new SearchWiki will let you customize your search results by deleting, adding, rearranging or even commenting on search results. However, you have to be logged in to enjoy these privileges. Adding annotations can help you remember them as the notes would be shown every time the site appears on a search result.
Though these changes would reflect only for that specific user account, Google gives the option to share your notes and editing that you made to your search results. You can see how the community has collectively edited their search results using the “See all notes for this SearchWiki” option.
These changes can also help genuine content websites to get more notes and higher rankings. Google would definitely use these tips to make their search engine better. From the users perspective, implementing SearchWiki will help them search better and easier.
