Recently, when I tried to buy hosting space from Godaddy, I landed up in a page stating, “There was a problem authorizing your credit. Please verify your payment information or use an alternate form of payment.” after I provided my credit card information.
There was no further information on the reason this could have happened. I have been using the same card on GoDaddy and have made at least 10 purchases and my credit limit was still more than $800.
I googled this issue and found that similar issues have happened with people using paypal but not credit card. Anyone who has had similar issues please let me know.
Update: After five interactions with various GoDaddy support engineers none was able to help me out. Instead they mentioned that my credit card had an issue and to get in touch with my bank. [HSBC]
Guess what? It turned out that the issue was a Firefox issue. I used IE and the transaction completed smoothly. Please try using IE. I still love Firefox though 🙂 !!
many godaddy employees are unethical. They will suck you to the bone. The domain resale division will steal and resell if you are not wise to see it coming.
I am also getting the same problem. I don’t have any problem with my Debit card. Till its getting me an error.
yes your are right i am also stuck with the godaddy service
now i am planning to move to any other hosting company.
This is very bad go daddy
i’m getting the same problem.
i’m from brazil but i’ve already registered other domains there…
however, today i tried to register one more, and what is amazing is: all payment methods returns sucks that: problem authorizing your credit. Please verify your payment information or use an alternate form of payment.
i inserted tickets regarding this problem but i did not receibe anything….
i also phoned to my bank/credit card and they said that my credit car is ok and active. of course, i even buy products on internet, i only get problem at goddady. it is boring. im frusted.
i think i will use brazilian service…
thanks
Glad to have found your post as I was in the same situation. But trying it in IE bore no luck for me. Now who the heck knows what the problem is. That’s the thing with GoDaddy, it’s always hit and miss. Every time you end up going back to them to register new domains — since they’re so affordable — they get it back from you by sucking the soul out of you. They save on everything and it shows — slow server, inexperienced customer support, bombarded with up- and cross-selling pitches with every click (to the point of overselling). Will I keep my domains with them? Yes. Am I a happy customer? No. Right now my 15 domains are still not registered with them until I figure out another way to pay them, and I do hope they’re not sniped meanwhile.
Hi Danny,
I’ve tried IE, Firefox and chrome. i’m getting the same issue. could you pls help me out.
Thanks
