Google Analytics has introduced a new feature called Event Tracking which can track interactions with Web 2.0 style content.
The new feature from Google can help you analyze interactions with AJAX, Silverlight, Flash, Adobe Air and other social networking applications.
To use this feature, you have to update your current JavaScript with the new JavaScript provided by Google [ga.js]. The code is available inside the profile settings. The page can be reached by clicking on the “Check Status” next to your website name.
Once the new code is set up, log in to your Google Analytics account, choose the profile you wish to analyze and you would find a new option “Event Tracking” on the Content section area. However, this should be a beta release as the report is available only for select profiles. Google claims that this feature takes a webmaster to a higher level of analysis way beyond a page view report.
